West Cork

Awesome endless scenery is the keynote of West Cork. There are relatively few man-made attractions, compared to the great array of natural wonders — beautiful bays and coves, secluded inlets and islands, farmlands and gardens. The landscape presents a rainbow of constantly changing colors, warmed by Gulf breezes, and fanned by palm trees. You can travel to land's end — Mizen Head, the most southerly point on the island of Ireland; or take a little cable car across to Dursey Island off the Beara Pininsula.

West Cork is a happy mix of enchanting towns, villages, and ports, with memorable names like Ballydehob, Bantry (shown below), Barleycove, Clonakilty, Glengariff, Gougane Barra, Rosscarbery, and Skibbereen. There is even a Baltimore and a Long Island!
