There are relatively few man-made attractions, compared to the great array of natural wonders beautiful bays and coves, secluded inlets and islands, farmlands and gardens. The landscape presents a rainbow of constantly changing colors, warmed by Gulf breezes, and fanned by palm trees. You can travel to land's end Mizen Head, the most southerly point on the island of Ireland; or take a little cable car across to Dursey Island off the Beara Pininsula. West Cork is a happy mix of enchanting towns, villages, and ports, with memorable names like Ballydehob, Bantry (shown below), Barleycove, Clonakilty, Glengariff, Gougane Barra, Rosscarbery, and Skibbereen. There is even a Baltimore and a Long Island!
